Course Description: Volt-ampere characteristics for circuit
elements; independent and dependent sources; Kirchoff’s
laws and circuit equations. Source transformations; Thevenin’s and Norton’s theorems;
superposition. Transient response of RC, RL, and RLC
circuits. Sinusoidal steady state and impedance,
instantaneous and average power.
Corequisite: MA 261 – Multivariate Calculus

These above two equations are only
correct for special cases. The first one is true only when Z is a pure
resistive element. The second one is true only when Z is pure reactive element.
For any regular element with an
impedance of R+Xj, the correct equation should be:
