Minor in Mathematics
For requirements about how to earn a minor in mathematics please refer to page 100 of the IPFW Bulletin. To be officially awarded a minor in math a form must be filled and approved by the Math Department prior to graduation. This form is available at the Department of Engineering.
- Civil engineering students, upon completion of their course plan, will have enough math courses to qualify for a minor in mathematics, i.e. no additional math courses are required
- Beginning with the 2002 course plan, computer engineering and electrical engineering students will also have enough math courses to qualify for a minor in mathematics
- Beginning with the 2002 course plan, mechanical engineering students are one course away from qualifying for this minor. The technical elective, ME 373 - Numerical Methods in Engineering, can be counted as a course towards this minor.
Students planning to earn a minor in mathematics are advised to fill a preliminary form and take it to the Department of Mathematics to make sure that the courses listed qualify for this minor.
