BSCmpE and BSEE Degrees
| To qualify for both the BSEE and BSCmpE degrees from IPFW, the following minimum requirements must be met. |
- Freshman Year Requirements (31 credit hours):
- CHM 115, MA 165, MA 166, PHYS 152
ENGR 101, ENGR 120, ENGR 121, ENGR 199
COM 114 ENG W131 - ECE Requirements (80 credit hours):
- Core courses for both EE and CmpE curriculum (29 credit hours):
ECE 201, 202, 270, 293, 387, 388, 301, 302, 362, ENGR 221, 222 - Core courses for EE curriculum (13 credit hours):
ECE 208, 255, 311, 382, 436 - Core courses for CmpE curriculum (14 credit hours):
ECE 358, 368, 437, 495 - Senior Design (6 credit hours):
ECE 405 and ECE 406, or ENGR 410 and ENGR 411 - ECE Electives (18 credit hours):
Minimum of 6 credit hours from the approved list of electrical engineering elecitives
Minimum of 6 credit hours from the approved list of computer engineering electives
The rest must come from the list of approved technical electives for the electrical
engineering and computer engineering programs - Advanced Physics (5 credit hours):
- PHYS 251
- Mechanical Engineering Elective (3 credit hours):
- ME 200 or ME 250
- Advanced Math (13 credit hours):
- MA 261, MA 275, MA 351, MA 363
- General Education Electives (15 credit hours):
- Meet the General Education Program requirements:
6 credit hours from area III which includes ECON E201
6 credit hours from area IV, and
3 credit hours from area VI - Total credits: 147 credit hours
- GPA Requirements:
- A graduation index of 2.0 or better is required to fulfill the BSEE and BSCmpE degree requirements. In addition, a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 is required for all ECE courses.
